Historical Interpretive Guide The American Battle Monuments Commission, which manages and maintains 26 military cemeteries and 31 war memorials around the world, is looking for an Interpretive Guide (M/F) for the North Africa American Cemetery and Memorial (Cimetière Américain de Carthage). This position provides visitor services to enhance visitor experiences. Your missions will be the following: - Welcome visitors, answer their questions, and provide them with information on the site. Lead cemetery visits for individuals and groups. - Explaining the exhibits, providing information about the history of the cemetery and the military battles and campaigns in which the people buried in the cemetery took part. - Answering telephones, preparing correspondence, communicating general information, and arranging visits with individuals, school groups, government officials, active military and veterans’ groups, and travel agencies. - The incumbent must be diligent in identifying potential visiting families and be prepared to offer the enhanced services offered by ABMC to next of kin (escort to grave, assisting with photos, etc.). - Demonstrate the use of the automated burial register and give directions to specific graves. - Develop interpretive themes and programs that will form the basis of an interpretive experience for visitors. - Participate in ceremonies such as the laying of wreaths, the laying of flowers, and the raising and lowering of the flag. - The incumbent is occasionally tasked with miscellaneous duties, including but not limited to maintaining visitor statistics, administrative duties, light janitorial duties, and occasional light maintenance work at inside and outside. Qualifications required: • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (high school diploma) • 2 years of general professional experience in contact with the public • Experience in the presentation and management of historic sites and monuments or similar tourist attractions • Fluency in English and French; notions in at least one other foreign language (Italian, German, Spanish). • Mastery of the Microsoft Office software package Professional know-how: • Have good interpersonal skills, friendliness, sense of hospitality • Have a good level of oral expression • Have an interest in historical subjects, especially World War II • Be punctual • Ability to work independently during the open hours of the cemetery ___________________________ Type of contract: CDI Working time: 40 hours/week Job constraints: Must work occasional weekends and holidays, as part of a monthly rotation Gross salary: varies between TND 33,712,000/year and TND 36,545,000/year (depending on skill) Place of work: 553 Rue Roosevelt, Carthage, Tunis Contract start date: after obtaining the security clearance certificate and medical certificate ___________________________ “All CVs must be received no later than 28 February 2025
